25th annual Empty Bowl events coming next week

The 25th annual Empty Bowl events will be Monday and Tuesday at the Depot in downtown Duluth. The fundraiser benefits Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, with 100 percent of proceeds going to the cause, said an agency news release.
On Monday, the Sea of Bowls preview event will be from 5-7 p.m. at the Depot. Bowls range in price from $25-100.
The Empty Bowl event will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., also at the Depot. The handcrafted bowls will all be $20. Admission to both events is free.
Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank is the region’s only food bank and rescuer of nationally and regionally donated food for 180 nonprofit programs and about 44,000 people in need throughout Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin.
“Over the last year we’ve rescued and distributed over 5.8 million pounds of food or enough food for 4.7 million meals for people in need throughout the Northland,” the Second Harvest news release said.
