Swenson begins practice at Mariner Medical

Sonja Swenson, M.D., a family practice physician, has joined Mariner Medical Clinic, a St. Luke's Clinic, in Superior, Wisconsin. Dr. Swenson has special interests in women's health, obstetrics and gynecology, as well as pediatrics and preventive medicine.

Dr. Swenson completed both her internship and residency at the Duluth Family Practice Center. She received her Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Swenson is licensed by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board.

Dr. Swenson has lived most of her life in the area, and her parents reside in Ely. She is a three-time finisher of Grandma's Marathon and during her personal time also enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking and berry picking.

Doug Nowinski named Sinex vice president

For the last 12 years, Douglas P. Nowinski moved up the ladder at a multinational, NYSE-traded company that provides trading, overhauling and manufacturing services and aftermarket products to the aviation industry throughout the world. Nowinski has left his position as AAR Corp.'s vice president of a business unit tasked to grow jet engine sales, purchasing and leasing internationally to join Sinex Aviation Technologies as vice president, regional airline accounts.

Nowinski will be responsible for all business development and account management for regional airlines in the U.S. and abroad. He will also develop business with selected accounts in aircraft leasing, charter and third-party maintenance, repair and overhaul companies (MROs). Sinex provides aircraft maintenance program automation software and consulting services to the aviation industry.

While at AAR Corp., Nowinski was rapidly promoted from engine parts product support and technical sales roles to sales director, general manager and product line vice president positions. He has extensive business development experience in the U.S., Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Nowinski holds an undergraduate degree from Denison University (Ohio) and a master's degree in international management from the American Graduate School of International Management.

Jay Bosch named Sinex VP of engineering

With 25 years of experience in aviation, hardware and software engineering, Jay E. Bosch has joined Sinex Aviation Technologies as vice president of engineering. He will guide the efforts of Quality Assurance and Software and Network Engineering, and will be responsible for other technological strategies and initiatives.

Bosch's background includes avionics design, flight simulation, computer systems simulation and broad consulting experience, including substantial contributions to the architecture and design of a new generation airline reservation system. He has extensive experience with large-scale system design and object-oriented analysis and design processes. Bosch has worked for a wide range of enterprises, from start-ups to Fortune 50 companies. Most recently, he was with Berkley Information Services as Vice President of Systems Development, responsible for legacy and object-oriented application development.

Bosch holds bachelor's and graduate degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota, and an MBA from the University's Carlson School of Management. He also holds commercial and instructor pilot's licenses and a Lear-Jet type rating.
