Arts grant money flowing into Chisholm

Collaboration can really pay off. Chisholm Community Education, The Range Center Inc. and Ironworld Discovery Center recently discovered just how much when the the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council recently awarded Chisholm Community Education $2,200 to assist Chisholm Community Education and Ironworld in collaborating to make artist workshops for adults available to the general public.

The one-year grant was one of seven approved regional grant applications totaling $11,900 awarded by the Arts Council last week. "The idea is to pool local artisans who normally work at Ironworld during the summer and tap into their talents for the rest of the community throughout the year," said Geri Carlstrom, Chisholm Community Ed Director. The first class, ironworking, was offered in November.
