1, 2, 3 levels to be considered for Duluth school levy vote

The Duluth School Board is expected to propose three potential levels of additional property tax to support school operations. If the referendum fails at all three levels, most of the current levy will remain in place.

Following are the annual impacts each level would have on property taxpayers and on the district's finances.

Level 1: $650 per pupil

$47.80 per $100,000 house value

$2.9 million in new operating revenue

Level 2: $773 per pupil

$71.71 per $100,000 house value

$4.4 million in new operating revenue

Level 3: $871 per pupil

$90.84 per $100,000 house value

$5.6 million in new operating revenue

Current levy: $405 per pupil

Property tax and district revenue would decrease because of expiration of $39 operating levy.
