VanDyke, Hedge
Lindsey VanDyke and Olie Hedge, both of Irving, Texas, plan to be married Feb. 25 In Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Her parents are Ken VanDyke and Margie and Bill Maloney, all of Duluth. His parents are Alan and Valarie Hedge of Breckenridge, Texas.
The future bride, a 2003 graduate of Duluth Central High School, graduated from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Superior in 2004 with a barber/cosmetology vocational certificate. She is a hair stylist in Dallas.
The future groom, a 2004 graduate of Breckenridge High School, graduated from Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie in 2005 with a vocational certificate in automotive technology and an associate degree in automotive service management. He is the assistant service manager at Sewell Infinity in Dallas.

Surprise visitor
Olie was supposed to be out of town at a cook-off, and I was working the weekend of April 16, 2011.
After work I ran an errand and headed home. When I walked up to our door, there was a card taped to it. It was an absolutely beautiful card and it also said that he had flown someone down here to spend the weekend with me and that they would be inside the apartment when I got home. I opened the door and to my surprise Olie was standing there, looking very sharp! He didn't fly anyone down to Texas! And remember he was supposed to be out of town, so I was very surprised to see him!
After a beautiful proposal down on one knee, he told me I needed to pack my suitcase because we were flying to Las Vegas the next morning! I was so excited; our first trip as future Mr. Mrs Hedge!
