Molly Pappas of Duluth and Timothy Schmidt of Milwaukee plan to be married Jan. 7, 2012, in Hope Community Church in Minneapolis.
Her parents are Dean and Laurie Pappas of Duluth. His parents are Guenter and Susan Schmidt of Mequon, Wis.
The future bride, a 2003 graduate of Duluth East High School, graduated from Michigan State University in East Lansing in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in political theory and constitutional democracy, and from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2010 with her juris doctor. She is an attorney in the Duluth City Attorney's Office.
The future groom, a 1998 graduate of Homestead High School in Mequon, graduated from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis., in 2003 with bachelor's degrees in economics and vocal performance, and from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2009 with his juris doctor. He is an attorney for Johnson Controls in Milwaukee.

Musical match
The couple got to know each other while putting together the law school musical at the University of Minnesota, known as the Theatre of the Relatively Talentless. He directed the music, she did the choreography.
Though she is the more graceful dancer, he still managed to sweep her off her feet soon after at the school's Malpractice Ball.
