Lundin, Wittenberg
Laura Lundin and Eric Wittenberg, both of Proctor, plan to be married Sept. 15 on Brighton Beach in Duluth.
Her parents are Chuck and Linda Lundin of Duluth and the late Bonnie Lundin. His parents are Gene and Elizabeth Wittenberg of Duluth and Richard and Sheryl Grand of Finlayson.
The future bride, a 1994 graduate of Duluth East High School, graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She is a behavioral health technician at Essentia Health-Amberwing in Duluth.
The future groom, a 1994 graduate of Duluth East High School, served in the Army from 2008-12 and graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in Minneapolis in 2007 with a master's degree in social work. He is a clinical associate at Accend Services in Duluth.

Letters from home
Eric had just returned home from his deployment to Afghanistan with the Army. After a few days of being home he told me that he had made me something special, but I would have to wait a few days until I could have my gift because it was a surprise.
A few days later while we were getting ready to go out on a date he told me that I could finally have my surprise. He gave me a notebook, and the notebook was filled with all of the cards and letters that I had sent to him while he was deployed.
We read through all of the letters together, and he told me that his "favorite" letter was on the last page. I couldn't wait to see which one was his favorite and to read it together, but when I got to the last page I found my beautiful ring within the pages. I can't think of a more perfect proposal!
