  • The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department hosts a free virtual winter concert showcasing the Symphonic Band and Percussion Ensemble, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8. Featuring driving rhythms and lush harmonies, the concert will include works by Frank Ticheli, a new work by Ian Deterling, UWS university services associate II, as well as the world premiere of a new work by UWS alumni Matthew Niemi depicting the sounds of winter. This concert, which includes portions recorded between October and November, will feature the music of Charles Mingus, Fred Sturm, Charlie Parker, Kenny Burrell and Roy Hargrove.   • The University of Minnesota Duluth presents DanceWorks2020 on Dec. 17, 18, 19 and 20. Free open streaming on Dec. 17-Dec. 20. Join performers online to celebrate movement, creativity and resilience. Faculty and student choreographers will premiere original camera dances filmed in a range of styles and locations.   • The Duluth Playhouse will be streaming “Songs of the Season,” featuring local singers, including Carolyn LePine, Gabriel Mayfield, Shad Olsen and Christina Stroup. Premieres Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. Stream it on YouTube through Jan. 3. Donations accepted. Also from the Duluth Playhouse, child actors will tell a holiday story, “My Christmas Wish For You,” premiering Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. The performance will be streaming on YouTube through Jan. 3.
