WDIO to launch 9 p.m. newscast on MeTV

The 30-minute weekday newscast will debut Monday, June 29.

Duluth TV station WDIO will launch a new 9 p.m. newscast on MeTV-WDIO (10.2) next week.

The 30-minute weekday newscast will debut Monday, June 29, and feature WDIO anchor Darren Danielson, chief meteorologist Justin Liles, sports director Chelsie Brown and the station's other journalists, WDIO said in a news release Monday morning.

“Our viewers have asked for more news and we’ve responded," WDIO general manager Debra Messer said in the release.

WDIO already has numerous morning and evening broadcasts on ABC.

MeTV, which broadcasts more than classic television series, is on digital channel 10.2 or 13.2. It is also on the following cable and satellite TV providers:
