Best Bets: Art in Bayfront Park
Kristi Abbott is a Twin Cities-based artist who uses textures and patterns to do things like recreate famous faces ranging from Audrey Hepburn to Humpty Dumpty. She’s the featured artist for this year’s Art in Bayfront Park — a two-day event at Bayfront Festival Park with pieces by a juried roster of more than 150 artists.
Abbott is also behind the commemorative piece commissioned by the fair heads, a collage of Duluth’s Duluthiest things, which has cropped up at a bunch of venues recently, including Yarn Harbor, Midi Restaurant and Great Lakes Aquarium.
This year’s event includes live music and art how-tos.
