SPECIAL ELECTION DATE: NOVEMBER 3, 2020

Notice is hereby given that the period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board member of Independent School District No. 709 shall begin on May 19, 2020, and shall close on 4:00 o'clock p.m. on June 02, 2020.
A special election to fill one (1) At-Large vacancy on the School Board for a term expiring January 3, 2022, shall be held on November 3, 2020. The At- Large District includes Precincts 1-30, 32-34 and Townships of Gnesen, Lakewood, Normanna, North Star and, and Unorg. 2 & 23, and the City of Rice Lake.
Candidates for the School Board must file with the Clerk of the School Board, Room 215, Historic Old Central High School, 215 N. 1st Ave. E., from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The filing fee is $2.00 or a petition in lieu of the filing fee must be furnished at the time of filing. A candidate for this office must be an eligible voter, must be 21 years of age or more on assuming office, must have been a resident of the school district from which the candidate seeks election for thirty (30) days before the special election, and must have no other affidavit on file for any other office at the same special election.
