Cancellation of Solway
Townships Local Board of
Appeal and Equalization
Meeting Scheduled for
April 7, 2020

Dear Solway Residents,
Due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus in Minnesota, social distancing is being practiced. In addition Governor Walz "stay at home" order discourages gatherings. As you are aware churches, community organization, and citizen groups of all kinds are cancelling their meetings and get togethers.
Additionally the health of one of our Supervisors and possible virus exposure of another Supervisor is his work place prohibits our having a quorum to conduct an in person Board of Appeal and Equalization this year. Therefore residents with questions or issues concerning their real estate tax assessments may go directly to the St. Louis County Assessor's office to resolve them. This is called an "open book" option.
This is how it works. If you have an issue or question, you may contact our St. Louis County Assessor Sean Worthington
Telephone: 218-726-2095
Email: Worthingtons@stlouiscountymn.gov
Letter: mail to: Mr. Sean Worthington

Mr. Worthington, after reviewing your information, could decide with you if changes need to be considered. He with you could forward this proposed change to the St. Louis County Board of Appeals that meets the 2nd week in June. If he decides no change is warranted you would still be able to take your concern to the St. Louis County Board of Appeals. Because of the threat of contracting the virus, no property re-inspections will occur this year.
The Solway Town Board regrets we cannot conduct an in person meeting. We wish all of you continued good health during these trying times.
