Gloria Marie Hantz

Gloria Marie Hantz, 85, of Cloquet, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, in Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton.  She was born Sept. 23, 1929, in Cloquet, the daughter of Harry and Gunhild Vnuk.  Gloria was a 1948 graduate of Cloquet High School. She married Richard Hantz on Dec. 2, 1950, in Cloquet.
She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church where she was a money counter and a member of St. Casimir’s Circle. Gloria was also a member of the Foresters, Moose Club, and Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed sewing, macramé, crocheting, fishing, baking and spending time at the family lake cabin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Madeline Giblin.
Gloria will be deeply missed by her husband of 65 years, Richard; sons, Greg (Dawn) of Minnesota, Scott (Joan) of Montana, and Mike of Washington; daughter, Kim (Tom) Zuk of North Dakota; grandchildren, Valerie (Joe) Fischer of Minnesota, Carlin and Sam Hantz of Montana, Amanda (Ben) Deering of Minnesota, Josh Troge of North Dakota and Cassie (Derek) Cunningham of Nevada; step-grandchildren, Aleesha and Anthony Desjarlait of Minnesota; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Punky (Art) Gleason, Marion Bergeron, Jeanne Toboleski, all of Minnesota and Harriet Haugen of California; brother, Jerry Vnuk of Arkansas; brother-in-law, Bob Giblin of Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service, Wednesday, July 15, 2015, in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Inurnment will be in New Calvary Cemetery Columbarium, Cloquet, followed by a luncheon in the Fireside Room of the funeral home.
