I have been reading stories for the past dozen years regarding Duluth’s “concerned citizens” (usually those trying to save their jobs) trying to save “cherished public institutions” like the Great Lakes Aquarium, Duluth Public Library, Spirit Mountain, and, most notoriously, the Lake Superior Zoo. In all the articles I have read, I have never noticed reporting on attendance figures.

The Duluth attraction has reduced capacity for general admission and full mansion tours.
After closing in late March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the attraction is preparing to reopen to the public June 18.
Mayor Emily Larson’s explanation for closing the Lester Park Golf Course this season has been inadequate. She basically just said she was sure some people would be disappointed, ho hum.
