The Duluth Playhouse Family Theatre kicks off the season with Anna, Elsa, and a snowman with some weird ideas about the science of snow versus high temps.

The regional premiere of Disney’s “Frozen Jr.” is 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10. Shows continue 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, 7 p.m. Fridays, through Jan. 26 at the Depot. Tickets are $17 adults, $15 for 17 and younger and are available at the Duluth Playhouse. Previous Disney shows at the theater have sold out, so people are encouraged to buy tickets in advance.

“Frozen Jr.” is based on the Broadway musical. It’s the story of an icy Queen Elsa and the love of her free-spirited sister, Anna. Also: A reindeer that doesn’t quite talk, love interests, Olaf, the huggy snowman. Expect a theatrical winter wonderland, including northern lights, a blizzard and the thaw.
