Charlie Parr, in a Facebook post Tuesday morning, announced that he and Mule Resophonic Guitars are raffling off a "wood-bodied, tri-cone" guitar that was custom made for the folk musician. The proceeds will go to Life House, which provides support to homeless teens.
"It's starting to get colder here in Duluth," Parr says in the post, "and I'm thinking about the winter ahead and how this winter is going to be pretty tough for nearly everyone."
There are 100 raffle tickets available, each for $100, at muleresophonic.com. After they are sold, a winner will be selected at random and contacted.
According to Parr, the guitar has "unique f-holes, a mini humbucker, and a 7th string doubling the G string in the tradition of Spider John Koerner, Big Joe Williams and allegedly even Robert Johnson (according to Son House)."
