An honorary Duluth band that was once given the key to the city returns for a concert in 2020.

Wilco plays at 7:30 p.m. March 10 at Symphony Hall as part of its "Ode to Joy Tour," which starts the year with a show in Madison the day before playing Duluth. Tickets are $49.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketmaster locations.

“Ode to Joy” is the Chicago-based band’s most recent studio album. The band fronted by Jeff Tweedy recently played three shows at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul. Low opened twice and Gaelynn Lea played the finale.

Former Duluth Mayor Don Ness named Wilco an honorary Duluth band in 2010, based partly on a memorable 2007 concert at Bayfront Festival Park. Being an honorary Duluth band doesn’t hold any legal power, but at the time it meant they were eligible to play the Homegrown Music Festival.
