Two decades-old rock bands with soon-to-be-released new material will play together this summer at Bayfront Festival Park.

The 311 and Dirty Heads concert will be in the early evening on July 7 at the outdoor venue. Tickets start at $39.50 and go on sale Friday at www.jadepresents.com.

Omaha-bred 311 is a rock-alt-reggae band with roots in the late 1980s. The band fronted by Nick Hexum has 12 studio albums; top singles include “Down,” which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s alternative chart in 1996 and a cover of “Love Song” that fared better than The Cure’s original take. The band is scheduled to release a new album in the spring.

Dirty Heads mixes alt, hip-hop, reggae and rock and released “Swim Team” in 2017. According to Billboard.com, the band’s next album is in the “final touches” stage.
