Writer Heid Erdrich will present an essay on artist Carl Gawboy during a virtual reading at 5 p.m. Tuesday on Zoom. The event, presented by the Tweed Museum of Art, tied to the retrospective "A Life Well-Painted: The Art of Carl Gawboy," which was at the museum on the University of Minnesota Duluth's campus from September 2020 to mid-May 2021.
Gawboy is a Bois Forte Anishinaabe/Ojibwe and Finnish artist who graduated from UMD in 1965. His paintings show day-to-day of life. Erdrich is an award-winning poet, and her most recent collection "Little Big Bully" won the National Poetry Series Award.
