The local PBS affiliate kicks off new seasons Thursday of three of the station’s original programs: “Making It Up North,” “The PlayList Presents” and “Native Report.”
“Making It Up North,” which airs at 8 p.m. on WDSE-WRPT, will feature artisans from the North House Folk School, and later in the season will show off the furniture makers, muralists, chefs and performers of Northern Minnesota. “The PlayList Presents” follows, a variation on the former show. In this take, episodes are 5 minutes long and show off musicians like JayGee, Superior Siren, Life Parade, Ingeborg von Agassiz and Seyi Oyinloye.
“Native Report,” in its 15th season, features Russ Northrup showing his grandson how to build a wigwam on the Fond du Lac reservation.
Episodes are also available online and via the PBS app. There is also a Makers Meetup every Thursday at Hoops Brewing for those featured and fans of the show.
