Just in time for Groundhog Day, “Groundhog Day.” There will be a two screenings of the 1993 movie starring Bill Murray at the Spirit of the North Theater. The movies play at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday on the third floor at the Fitger's Complex, 600 E. Superior St. Tickets are $10, and there will be a cash bar with drinks and snacks.
“Groundhog Day,” the movie, is the story of a weatherman sent to cover Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog, whose shadow or lack thereof predicts the end of winter. The weatherman, also a Phil, gets snowed in, and when he wakes up the day after Feb. 2 - it’s still Feb. 2.
Lather, rinse, repeat. As the day repeats again and again, the weatherman develops empathy and a love interest.
