Superior middle school wrestlers headed to Chetek for the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser youth wrestling tournament. Jason Thomas placed first. He won his first match by points, 8-1. Pinning his second opponent in the second period, and pinning his third opponent in the first period in 25 seconds.

UMD dance team competes in Florida

The University of Minnesota Duluth Dance Team traveled to Orlando, Fla., to compete in the 2019 Universal Dance Association College National Championships in January and placed fifth out of 32 teams in the Open Jazz category. This was the team's third trip to the UDA College National Championships and their third time placing in the top five. New this year the team had the benefit of coaches for the first time with coaches Alli Mackner, a UMDDT alumni, and Kaitlyn (Jerrick) Lundquist, an alumni of the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders.

Spartan wrestlers place in tournament

Superior Spartan youth/middle school wrestlers headed to Northshore Classic Tournament in Proctor. Fifteen participated from the team. They are first graders: Noah Renfroe (third place), Nathan Madsen (third place), Chase Lieble (third place). Third grader Lyle Kokolis (third place), Fourth graders: Logan Madsen (fourth place), Noah Rudkin (first place), Brayden Holsclaw (third place), Fifth graders: Jamison Cornelius (third place), Aeven Devera (second place), Sixth grader Justin Rookey Jr. (second place), Seventh grader: Ethan Ostman (fourth place), Eighth graders: Trevor Derick (first place), Caden Ostman (third place), Jason Thomas (first place), and Eric Winterscheidt (second place).

Minnesota North Volleyball place in tournament

Minnesota North Volleyball teams participated in tournaments in the Twin Cities. The 18-1 girls took took first place in the Gold 18s Division at the Northstar Presidents' Day Challenge while the 16-1 girls team took second place in the Gold 16s Division. The 18-1 boys team took first place in the Club Division in the NCR Winter Tourney.
