Veterans’ Memorial Hall, a program of the St. Louis County Historical Society, needs volunteers for the Oral History Project. The Oral History Project collects first-person accounts of military service through in-person recorded interviews with local veterans. These interviews are not just about wartime experiences, but also about the journey up to and after their military service. The interviews are transcribed and stored within the Albert J. Amatuzio Research Center, the research arm of Veterans’ Memorial Hall, and will be available on the Veterans’ Memorial Hall website.
For those who wish to volunteer for this Veterans’ Memorial Hall project, there is an oral history interviewer training session scheduled for Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the board room at the St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center (the Depot), 506 W. Michigan St. If interested, please contact Harry Cottrell, Veterans’ Memorial Hall program manager at 218-733-7500 or harry@thehistorypeople.org .
