SUPERIOR — As rain lightly fell Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 2, the Pride of Baltimore II rested, moored at Loon's Foot Marine on Loons Foot Landing in Superior.

The Baltimore Clipper topsail schooner was launched in 1988 after the sinking of the original Pride of Baltimore off the shore of Puerto Rico in 1986. The Pride II has sailed over 250,000 nautical miles and visited more than 200 ports in 40 countries, according to its website.

The Pride of Baltimore II will make its way to Two Harbors for the opening of the Festival of Sail Lake Superior on Thursday, Aug. 4.
