The beloved and storied pair of boots that a Minneapolis woman accidentally left behind during a day trip to Stoney Point near Two Harbors have been found.
"I am thrilled, thrilled, thrilled," Mela Amara said in a voicemail message.
The boots, black satiny combat boots with the purple laces the owner added later, were a daily wear, including on her wedding day this past May.
Amara took them off while at the beach and slipped into tennis shoes instead. When she and her husband switched to a new spot on the beach, the boots were forgotten.
Amara said a woman saw the story in the News Tribune and went out looking this past Friday, messaged her for more specific details, then found them near a shack on the beach on Saturday. The boots are, or soon will be, in the mail.
