The Duluth Police Department announced the cancellation of National Night Out 2020 due to COVID-19. According to a Thursday news release from the department, the decision was made "to ensure the health and safety of our community."
"B uilding relationships and ensuring the safety of our community is at the center of the mission of the Duluth Police Department," the statement said.
The event is usually held on the second Tuesday of August, but it was pushed back to Oct. 6 before being canceled.
