Essentia Health welcomes Dr. Natalia Rocha

Dr. Natalia Rocha, a cardiologist, is welcoming new patients at the Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Heart and Vascular Center in Duluth.

Dr. Rocha joined Essentia for its “culture of excellence, nonprofit and family friendly practice,” she said.

Dr. Rocha earned a medical degree from Universidade Federal do Ceara in Ceara, Brazil. She completed a residency in internal medicine, as well as a fellowship in cardiology, at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

“I chose to be a cardiologist because I wanted to have a significant and active role in treating patients with life-threatening diseases, such as heart attacks, heart failure and arrhythmias,” Dr. Rocha said. “I am driven by the fact that as a cardiologist I can have a huge impact in a patient’s life in a short period of time.

“I believe that empowering patients and their families to understand and actively participate in their diagnosis and therapeutic plan is the cornerstone of a successful treatment.”
