Essentia Health welcomes Dr. Karin Knutson

Dr. Karin Knutson, an obstetrics and gynecology physician, is welcoming new patients at the Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic

“My relationship with Essentia goes back to high school when I volunteered at St. Mary’s Medical Center delivering flowers to patient rooms,” Dr. Knutson fondly recalled. “I subsequently attended medical school at UMD and opted to complete multiple clinical rotations at Essentia. I was impressed by the OB/GYN department’s commitment to patient care.”

Knutson earned a medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass.

“I enjoy the wide variety of experiences and skills in OB/GYN,” Dr. Knutson said. “I love that each day is exciting and different, ranging from routine clinic visits to emergent surgery. I find immense satisfaction in having continuity of care with patients, and I look forward to long-term relationships with them.

“Every day I am struck by the strength, perseverance and courage of my patients.”
