Essentia Health welcomes Dr. Andrea Lays

Dr. Andrea Lays, an obstetrician and gynecologist, is excited to welcome new patients at the Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic.

“When I started looking for a new practice to join, Essentia stood out from the beginning,” Dr. Lays said. “I want to be at a health system that offers multiple specialties and high-level care. In addition, I was drawn to Duluth because of its beauty, opportunities and the numerous recreational activities it has to offer.”

Dr. Lays earned her medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks, N.D. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill., and is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

“I love the variety of OB-GYN — every day is a new experience,” she said. “Of course, delivering babies is a highlight, but I also enjoy doing surgeries such as hysterectomy, endometrial ablation and other gynecological procedures. It is such an honor to be part of bringing a new life into the world, and I love the opportunity to care for women at all stages of life. The relationship I share with my patients is one that I cherish.”
