$1,000,000 Affordable Housing Grant to Benefit Duluth Families and Individuals

DULUTH, MN – A collaborative effort between One Roof Community Housing and North Shore Bank will create affordable housing opportunities for low-income families and individuals in Duluth. North Shore Bank and One Roof Community Housing helped facilitate a $1,000,000 Competitive Affordable Housing Program grant through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines.

This grant will assist One Roof Community Housing in supporting a 52-unit Brewery Creek apartment building complex with 26 units specified for homeless youth, and ten units prioritized for members of the Fond du Lac Band of Ojibwe.

“We are thrilled to have received this award and look forward to transforming the northeast corner of 6th Avenue East and 4th Street in Duluth by building 52 affordable apartments for people who need an affordable home,” said Jeff Corey, Executive Director for One Roof Community Housing.

The Competitive Affordable Housing Program encourages partnerships between Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines member financial institutions and local housing organizations throughout the Bank’s district, consisting of 13 states and three U.S. Pacific territories.
