Ultimate Frisbee (officially just called “Ultimate” since “Frisbee” is trademarked by Wham-O Inc.) is a non-contact sport that began in the 1960s and has grown to millions of players today in clubs, campuses and professional leagues. There are no referees; players take responsibility for their own rules and fouls. There are around 200 members of the Duluth Ultimate Community, connected by its Facebook page. The Duluth Area YMCA organizes a summer league for ages 16 and up June 12 through Aug. 24. For information go to duluthymca.org .
