Hundreds of volunteers spread holiday cheer earlier this month, performing more than a dozen community service projects during the Head of the Lakes United Way Day of Caring Holiday Edition. Projects included crafting Christmas blankets for children in need at Neighborhood Youth Services, baking holiday cookies for Harbor House Crisis Shelter and collecting supplies for children at the Duluth YMCA's Little Treasures Child Care and Family Center.
