  • Nineteen members of the Duluth, Proctor and Hermantown school boards met yesterday to discuss the possibility of sharing vocational programs for high school students. A feasibility study has examined several cooperative alternatives, including building a facility for the three districts to share.
  • The Duluth religious community is uniting behind a program to combat world hunger called "Hunger: From Duluth with Love." The program is designed to spread awareness of world hunger and to stimulate donations to organizations that provide aid to the world's starving people.

  • Disabled veterans at the Nopeming Sanitorium were treated to Thanksgiving baskets and a special holiday program yesterday. Members of the Thomas Shaughnesey Post of the American Legion of Morgan Park visited with the convalescing veterans and left baskets prepared by the post.
  • Duluth Police Chief W.E. Pugh has instructed patrolmen to enforce the ordinance regulating the removal of snow and ice from public sidewalks within city limits. Under the ordinance, which passed January 21, 1892, sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours of a snowfall.
