  • The state Legislative Advisory Commission yesterday delayed appropriating $1.45 million for a detailed design of the Interstate 35 extension through downtown Duluth. John Pawlak, district highway engineer in Duluth, said demolition of buildings to make way for the extension will proceed.
  • Duluth Mayor John Fedo said yesterday the first major interior link of the skywalk system, between the Normandy Court and Lake Superior Plaza, will be completed by the holidays. Fedo spoke from the finished section of skywalk that runs the length of Wahl's Department Store.

  • Plans for the erection of the new $30,000 Mount Olive English Lutheran Church at 19th Avenue East and Fourth Street in Duluth were completed yesterday by P.M. Olson, architect. The church will be constructed of brick and will be completed by Feb. 1, 1922.
  • With the completion within 30 days of a second 200-foot tower at the U.S. Coast Guard station on Park Point, the radio-sending radius of the Duluth station will be increased to 400 miles. It will allow communication with all upper lake ports.
