- The Duluth Water and Light Department is now to be known as the Duluth Water and Gas Department. A resolution presented to the City Council yesterday providing for the change in the name of the institution was unanimously approved.
- The Suomi College, the only institution of higher learning of the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, will be moved to Duluth from Hancock, Michigan. A committee has been formed to raise the necessary funding and to locate a site in Duluth.
- Rose Barker yesterday completed the sale of a piece of property near the St. Louis County Courthouse in Duluth to the county for $15,000. This is one of the lots on which the new county jail will be built.
- Preparations for the opening of the new Androy Hotel in Hibbing are now being made. The opening, set for June 30, will feature a banquet to which men from around the country who are prominent in civic life will be invited.
