Barb Skogg submitted this photo of Duluth's memorial to the city's own famed Civil War veteran Albert Woolson.
"I’m a quilter," she wrote, "so I began making masks with my stash of quilting material, making over 400 for Lutheran Social Service and the fire hall here in Duluth.
"Obviously we have had a supply of masks and have given them to friends and neighbors. Well, walking one day, we decided that he would have wanted a mask during the pandemic, so we gave him one."
Skogg said that she hopes other people aiming to live to age 109 will wear a mask, too.
