Clara, a beautiful but childish young woman, loses her hat in a sudden gust. The hat is caught by a handsome Florentine, Fabrizio Naccarelli, who returns it to her. This brief episode sparks an immediate romance. Thus begins "The Light in the Piazza," a Hermantown High School production of the Tony Award-winning, 1950s-set musical.

The musical features junior Cally Stanich as Margaret Johnson (Clara's mother), senior Adrianna Bail as Clara Johnson and senior Jace LeGarde as Fabrizio Naccarelli. The show is directed by Ken Ahlberg, choir teacher at Hermantown, and Theresa Taraldsen, drama director.

Performances are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 20-21 at Hermantown High School, 4335 Hawk Circle Drive. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and can be reserved by calling 626-6305 or purchased at the door.
