A longtime lighthouse keeper, a seasoned fisherman/researcher and the director of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point are among the speakers scheduled for this year's "Gales of November," which is again to be held virtually this year.

The annual event hosted by the Lake Superior Marine Museum Association is Thursday through Saturday and will also include an online auction and raffle.

The conference opens at 7 p.m. Thursday with Lee Radzak, who spent nearly 40 years as the keeper of the Split Rock Lighthouse . His memoir, "The View from Split Rock: A Lighthouse Keeper's Life," was published by Minnesota Historical Society Press in May.

Dan Rau is the featured speaker at 7 p.m. Friday. He is billed as having spent much of his adult life on Lake Superior as a boat captain, a fisherman or a researcher. He has worked with Fred Dudderar Jr. to capture the stories of commercial fishing on Lake Superior.

Roger LeLievre, at 7 p.m. Saturday, will present "Because of the Boats: How I Became the Luckiest Boatnerd in the World!" He was born blocks from the Soo Locks and spent summers on the St. Marys River. He ended up befriending a boat photographer, Tom Manse, who taught him how to take photos and develop them in a dark room.

Last year's conference was also held online because of COVID-19.
