The Duluth YMCA is participating in the Summer Food Service Program and will provide free meals to children and teens in low-income areas. Meals (lunch and/or snack) are served to all youth who are 18 years old and younger. The Duluth YMCA will also provide grab-and-go bags and meal kits for families (youth and adults) at various sites.
The meals are provided on a first come, first served basis at each of the YMCA's sites including:
- Harbor Highlands Community Center, 29 W. 11th St., June 21-Sept. 3; lunch provided Monday through Friday 12 p.m.; snack 2:30 p.m.; grab-and-go bags 4-5:30 p.m. Fridays.
- Gary-New Duluth Recreation Center, 801 101st Ave. W., June 14-Sept. 3; snack 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; grab-and-go bags 4-5:30 p.m. Fridays.
- Duluth YMCA, 302 W. First St., ongoing; grab-and-go bags 4-5:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
YMCA at the Essentia Wellness Center, ongoing; grab-and-go bags 4-5:30 p.m. Thursdays.
The healthy meals are available for all without charge regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or ability.
