Free music festival at UMD is April 1

KUMD-FM 103.3 presents its first ever music festival, NorthFest, featuring 13 Minnesota bands with Duluth connections, 9 a.m. to midnight on Wednesday, April 1 at the University of Minnesota Duluth. The festival is free and open to the public. All ages welcome.

Genres range from folk to punk blues, indie to proto pop punk and hip-hop to electronic. The event will showcase music from Gramma’s Boyfriend featuring Haley Bonar as well as Red Mountain, Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank, Rachael Kilgour, Jaw Knee Vee, Jamie Ness and more. Funding for the NorthFest is provided by The Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
