Due to pandemic restrictions, the Lake Superior Marine Museum Association’s “Gales of November” events have shifted online. This year’s event is open to everyone everywhere via virtual nightly presentations starting Tuesday, Nov. 10, through Saturday, Nov. 14.
Viewers can tune in via the association's website starting Tuesday night with the anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Tuesday’s programming will begin with a livestream of the lighting of the Split Rock Lighthouse beacon at 4:30 p.m. on the Split Rock Lighthouse Facebook page then continue on the association website at 7 p.m. A member of the U.S. Coast Guard who was on the team that discovered the wreck of the Fitzgerald site will speak.
While the presentations are free, visitors are asked to consider donations or memberships to the Lake Superior Marine Museum Association.
