If you’re in for food, live music and a hot air balloon, head on down to Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth this weekend.
Festival by the Lake (formerly Taste of Duluth) is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the park, 350 Harbor Drive.
There’s a $5 suggested donation; ages 12 and younger and 60 and older are free.
The annual summer event features performances by The Fractals, Kim Olson, Buckwild and more. There will be beer, arts and crafts, a kids' play area and a chance for a hot air balloon ride, weather permitting.
Taste of Duluth was renamed "Festival by the Lake" in April.
"People loved the event, but we thought a more fitting name was in order," co-producer Walt Aplin said in a News Tribune story in April. "An event named 'Taste of Duluth' should be a tasting event, so we will bring Taste of Duluth back at some point, but at a better time of the year, just not in July."
One empty or factory-sealed water bottle is allowed per person. Bring your own chair, but leave the tents, umbrellas and pets at home (except authorized service animals).
Donations benefit the Bluebird Foundation, which awards scholarships and grants to local high school students in performing arts.
