A prayer vigil in honor of missing and murdered indigenous women will take place Sunday at the site of a billboard that also calls attention to the cause.

The event will begin at 3 p.m. at Garfield Avenue and Superior Street, according to Moira Villiard, one of the organizers. It will begin with prayer followed by a brief walk to the Duluth Folk School/Dovetail Cafe for concluding remarks.

Speakers will include Duluth Mayor Emily Larson; Robert Larson, president of the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council; City Councillor Renee Van Nett; and Carl Crawford, Duluth human rights officer.
