Three siblings reached their fundraising goal, meaning Duluth Police Chief Mike Tusken will jump into the lake.

And not just any lake.

Brea, Dawson and Bryce Parrott launched a campaign last week to raise money for the purpose of buying meals from local restaurants to reward front-line medical workers, a Duluth police news release explained. They exceeded their $5,000 goal, reaching $5,430 as of Monday afternoon. In honor of their achievement, Tusken will jump into Lake Superior at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30.

The city announced Wednesday that Fire Chief Shawn Krizaj will also be jumping into the lake.

The two will jump from the Duluth Fire Department's watercraft called Marine 19. The event will take place in front of Silos Restaurant at Pier B, 800 W. Railroad St. in Duluth. Parking will be available at Pier B.
