Each household in Duluth spends an estimated $100 a month on diapers and wipes per child. These essential childcare materials are not covered by food stamps or WIC, creating a need to help our area mothers provide for their children. With assistance from the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Duluth program, CHUM is seeking sizes 4, 5 and 6, but all diaper sizes will be accepted.
Have some extra diapers lying around? Open diaper packages are accepted as well.
Diaper donations can be dropped off at designated area businesses; CHUM, Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce, Essentia Health, Great Lakes Aquarium, Mount Royal Dental, St. Luke’s, and SuperOne locations in Hermantown, Kenwood, Lakeside and West Duluth.
In addition, Leadership Duluth will host a live drop-off event on March 22 at the Hermantown Wal-Mart. Representatives from the program will be available on site collecting diapers of all sizes from noon to 3 p.m. Cash donations are also accepted.
