St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chisholm held a Corpus Christi Procession with Benediction after the 10 a.m. Mass on June 18. Escorting the procession around the church grounds was an honor guard of the Knights of Columbus in full regalia, followed by Fr. Anthony Craig carrying the monstrance with the Blessed Sacrament and parishioners singing traditional hymns in honor of Jesus and His Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist.
This yearly feast of Corpus Christi, meaning the Body of Christ, is a celebration of Christ's Real Presence - Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Holy Eucharist. This solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ reinforces the Holy Thursday celebration of Jesus instituting the sacrament of the Eucharist. With processions of the Blessed Sacrament on this day, Catholics around the world get to publicly witness their faith in and love for Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.
The members who made up the honor guard are Frank Paradise, Brandan Fiedler and David Pessenda.
