- Organized labor representatives have finished working out the details of Monday's big Labor Day celebration and parade of union men. Virtually every union in the city will be represented in the parade, which will leave Courthouse Square at 9:30 a.m.
- Flying from Minneapolis to Superior in less than two hours yesterday, W.J. Garrity made what is thought to be a record flight between the two cities. Garrity, formerly an American Army aviator in France, landed at the Tri-State Fairgrounds at 2 p.m.
- The Glass Block team, champions of the Twilight League, defeated the Riverside Giants, pennant winners in the Industrial League, 9-5 yesterday in the playoff for the Duluth city title. Next week, Glass Block will play the winner of the St. Paul city championship.
- The tug Whelan is expected to arrive in Ashland within a few days with 5,000 cords of Canadian pulpwood which was lost last fall in a Lake Superior storm. The pulpwood, worth $50,000, was picked up along the Canadian shore around Eagle's Point.
