Birth and baby fair to be held April 5

Women Circling Women and Magic Box Photography present the 15th biennial "Birth and Baby Fair" on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Coppertop First United Methodist Church, 230 E. Skyline Parkway. The event is free.

Attendants may learn about baby-friendly and mother-friendly resources from local birth professionals. Focusing on pregnancy and the early parenting years, the fair will feature over 50 different exhibitors.
There will be workshops and local, handmade, and eco-friendly products for sale. There will also be organic food available to purchase. Free childcare will provided as well.
Workshops include:
10-11 a.m.
•What is a Doula? by Teri Kesti of Duluth Doula Collective.
•How to raise a HEALTHY child by Dr. Danae Hautamaki D.C. of HealthSource of Duluth
•Family Centered Birthing at Essentia with Dr. Kassing
11 a.m.-noon
•Breastfeeding: Getting off to a great start by Jane Johnson RN, IBCLC, Lactation Consultant from Essentia Health, St. Mary’s Medical Center
•New Alternative School Options in Duluth by Spirit of the Lake Community School, Many Rivers Montessori, and Duluth One Room.
•Introduction to Hypnobirthing by Marissa Davis of Your Birthing Journey
Noon-1 p.m.
•How to have a Natural Birth in the Hospital with Sara Weik Birth Doula
•Positive Discipline: Learning to Respond with Love with Angie Nolle of Attachment Parenting Duluth

1-2 p.m.
•Placenta Encapsulation by Jesse Dykhuis of Duluth Doula
•Nature Play: Simple Ideas for Outdoor Fun with Your Family by Kaitlin Erpestad, Hartley Nature Preschool Director
