The 2020 Chester Bowl Fall Fest scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, has been canceled.

Staff and volunteers with Chester Bowl canceled the festival due to an inability to safely hold an event of its size during the pandemic, a news release said. The single-day annual fundraising event averages 7,500 to 10,000 visitors.

“We look forward to this event all year as a celebration of community and the change of seasons. It never really feels like fall until the weekend of Fall Fest," said program manager, Sam Luoma. "This event has been a big part of many Duluthians’ lives, and we know the community will miss having the event this year. We are disappointed to have to cancel the event in 2020, but we know it is the right decision.”

This year would have been the festival's 36th year.
