A pair of local running stalwarts signed national letters of intent to run NSIC cross country and track, as Duluth Denfeld senior Isaac Fink will attend Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, next year and Lauren Sertich will attend St. Cloud State.

Fink qualified for three straight Minnesota Class AA CC state meets and this year won six straight races before finishing ninth at the Section 7AA meet.

Sertich, meanwhile, has consistently been one of the top runners on one of the Northland’s best teams. She led the Lumberjacks with a 34th-place finish at the Section 7AA meet. She is the granddaughter of former Minnesota Duluth men’s hockey coach Mike Sertich.
